Anaerobic Baffled Reactor Solutions
Eco-Friendly Sewage Treatment That Runs Itself
Looking for a smart, self-sufficient way to manage wastewater on your property—without electricity, moving parts, or costly maintenance? Our Improved Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR) systems offer a natural, low-impact solution for treating domestic and light industrial sewage right where it’s produced.
Designed for simplicity, efficiency, and sustainability, ABR systems are the ideal wastewater treatment choice for rural homes, eco-lodges, farms, off-grid developments, and forward-thinking homeowners.
What Makes ABR Systems Different?
Unlike traditional septic tanks or power-hungry treatment plants, ABRs use a clever series of internal baffles that guide wastewater through chambers. This increases contact time with beneficial bacteria—naturally breaking down solids and impurities without mechanical or electrical assistance.
No motors. No pumps. No electricity.
Just gravity, good design, and proven eco-engineering.
Self-Sustaining & Maintenance-Free
With no mechanical components to maintain, ABR systems are incredibly low-maintenance. They’re designed to:
Operate using gravity—no power needed
Resist shock loads from irregular usage
Last for decades with simple care and local materials
Handle daily flows from 2 to 200 m³ with ease
Minimize sludge build-up and servicing needs
A Natural Treatment Journey
Each system is custom-designed to suit your site and includes:
This is wastewater treatment that looks as good as it works.

Bentonite Clay for Sealing Dams
Smart, Sustainable Water Retention – Powered by Nature
Looking for a reliable solution to stop your dam from leaking?
At Civil Structural & Eco-Engineering, we offer complete bentonite sealing systems using premium Envirobent Bentonite Powder – a natural and eco-friendly way to seal, protect, and enhance your water storage.
Whether you’re repairing an old farm dam or building a new one from scratch, we guide you from site inspection to final sealing, making the entire process seamless, sustainable, and stress-free.
Why Use Bentonite Clay?
Envirobent Bentonite Powder is a 100% natural clay that expands when wet, creating an impermeable barrier to prevent seepage and water loss. It’s widely trusted across agriculture, conservation, civil works, and even wildlife reserves for its proven sealing power.
Trusted for:
Leaking earth dam repairs
Wetland and pond sealing
Spill containment and industrial applications
Constructing dam floors and walls
Agricultural water retention
Don’t let a leaky dam drain your resources – learn how bentonite can help you save water and money.
The Science Behind the Seal
Bentonite forms from ancient volcanic ash, creating a unique clay with high swelling capacity and a fine texture. When mixed into the dam wall or floor and hydrated, it expands to fill pores and cracks, forming a watertight seal.
It’s like giving your dam a waterproof lining – naturally.
Eco-Friendly. Effective. Long-Lasting. Long-Lasting.
Key Features:
- 100% natural clay – safe for livestock, crops, and ecosystems
- High free swell index for maximum sealing power
- Works with most soil types and dam conditions
Main Benefits:
- Minimizes water loss – more water, less waste
- Reduces maintenance and repair costs
- Promotes sustainable water management on your property
Turnkey Solutions You Can Trust
We do more than supply bentonite. We deliver comprehensive, professional service from start to finish:

How to Detect a Leaking Dam?
Signs of leakage may vary but include:
- Obvious Issues: Water fails to fill the dam, seepage through walls, or excessive water loss beyond evaporation.
- Subtle Indicators: Faster-than-expected water level drops, thriving vegetation below the dam, or leakage after heavy rainfall.
Simple Jug Test to Identify Soil Type for Dam Construction
Steps 1-2
Jar filled a ⅓ of the way full with soil.
1. Using a mesh sieve or old colander, sift the soil to remove any debris, rocks, and large organic matter (leaves, sticks, roots, etc.).
2. Fill the jar ⅓ full of the soil to be tested
Steps 3
Jar filled with water, leaving space at top.
3. Fill the remainder of the jar with clean water, but leave some space at the top.
- Add 1 tablespoon of powdered dishwashing detergent
- Cap the jar and shake vigorously until the soil turns into a uniform slurry.
- Set on a level surface and time for one minute.
- Place a mark the outside of the jar, showing the coarse sand layer settled at the bottom of the jar.
Jar showing the silt layer.
- Leave the jar in a level spot for 2 hours.
- Mark the top of the next settled layer with the permanent marker. This is the silt layer.
Jar showing the clay layer.
- Leave the jar on a level spot for 48 hours.
- Mark the top of the next settled layer with the permanent marker. This is the clay layer that has settled on top of the silt layer.
Using a ruler, measure and record the height of each layer, and the total height of all three layers.
- Using a ruler, measure and record the height of each layer, and the total height of all three layers. Use the soil texture analysis worksheet below to record results.
- Soil texture triangle to estimate the soil type for the site. Use the soil texture triangle to estimate the soil type for the site.
- The clay percentages are listed on the left side of the triangle. Lines corresponding to clay percentages extend from the percentages reading left to right (see red line).
- The silt percentage is on the right side, with lines extending downwardly, diagonally right to left (see green line).
- The sand percentage is on the right side, with lines extending upwardly, diagonally right to left (see blue line).
- Track the lines with the percentages measured and find the spot on the triangle where all three lines intersect. The region where these lines intersect indicates the soil type present. The example shown represents a loam soil texture.
